Platform orientation tour
Welcome to WaveLinks! This tour will guide you through the main sections and features of the application, helping you understand how to navigate and utilize its functionalities.
1. Public Area (Before You Log In)
When you first visit WaveLinks, you'll encounter several key areas:
- Landing Page: This is your first introduction to WaveLinks. It includes:
- Information about the Product and its Features.
- An About Us section showing the projects behind WaveLinks.
- Navigation links to Login and Register.
- Register Page New users can create an account to access the full suite of features.
- Login Page Access your WaveLinks account from here.
The Explore section already gives a first impression on the main Dashboard and Citizen Science. You can also get information on how to use the platform browsing the Help Center.
2. Main Application (After You Log In)
Once logged in, you'll have access to the core WaveLinks platform, structured as follows.
2.1 Dashboard
Through the tabs accessible at the top of the page you can browse dashboards from PREP4BLUE, the BlueMissionAA and BlueMissionBANOS.
Different kinds of visualisations and graphs are giving insights on the data behind WaveLinks.
2.2 Explore Section
- Projects: Find research and innovation projects.
- Stakeholders: Discover organizations and individuals.
- Engagement Methods: Learn about different stakeholder engagement methods.
- Citizen Science: Explore citizen science initiatives.
- Funding: Coming soon.
- Policy & Legislation: Coming soon.
- Solutions: Find services and solutions.
Many "Explore" sub-sections also feature detail pages when you click on a specific item.
2.3 Networking Section
The Networking area is being designed to help you connect with others. Sub-sections like "Institutions", "Tasks", "Events" and "Forum" are planned.
2.4 Monitoring Section
The Monitoring section provides dashboards for specific missions:
- BlueMissionAA: Dashboard, Data Sources, and KPI information.
- BlueMissionBANOS: Currently only holds the dashboard; other information on data sources and KPI's are coming soon.
2.5 Settings
The Settings are being developed to make your WaveLinks experience customisable. Currently, you can update your login information under the tab "Change Password".
2.6 Help Center
The Help Center is supposed to be your go-to resource for assistance.
- Getting Started: Guides like this one to help you kicking off.
- Tutorials: Step-by-step tutorials, often equipped with videos.
- FAQ: Answers to frequently asked questions.
- Contact Us: Provides the email address

3. Key Recurring Components
As you navigate WaveLinks, you'll notice some common patterns and components:
- Tabs: In every section of the application you can find tabs to organize content, separating a search functionality from a dashboard overview and adding new content.
- Tables: For displaying lists of data like projects or stakeholders, we see expandable tables, often equipped with search and filter capabilities.
- Dashboard tiles: Visual components are used in dashboards to present summarized information or key metrics.
- Add New Forms: Forms for contributing new data to the platform.
